So it's been 1 year since your accident last December (Chad was hit by an SUV on the night of December 1st, 2008). How the hell did you film the last part in City of New Lights in that amount of time after such an accident?
I don't know really! I guess I was just so much more motivated. Once I got back on my board I just gave it everything that I had.
Directly after the accident, did you think you would ever skate again?
Yeah, I knew that I would be able to eventually because I had no damage to my legs.
How long did it take before you started skating again?
I started rolling around after a few months then I started doing tricks after about 6 months.

How long was it before you were able to start filming for City of New Lights?
I wasn't until like the beginning of summer.
Are you happy with your part?
Yeah, I’m pretty happy with it. I wish I had some more tech stuff in it, but Jarvis did a great job in putting it together!
Tell us about the switch heel down the Black Double. Was it something you wanted to do for a long time? Had you tried it before? How many tries? What was going through your head? What did you do after you landed it?I wanted to do it for a while because nobody has ever skated it switch before and I just always wanted to do a trick down it! I did try it once before, I jumped down it about 30 times the first time. The second time I went it was all business! We set up the lights and cameras then went for it and landed it fourth try! I couldn't believe I did it. I had so much weight taken off my shoulders and I was so happy! Right after Jarvis took me out to the pub for a few pints to celebrate!
Is that your favourite trick in your part?
I would have to say so!
What's up with the switch front shuv up the New Spot stairs! That's insane! Did that just happen or did you plan to go film it?
I just learned how to pop that trick really good so I had it in mind that I wanted to do it up New Spot. I tried it before and came close then the second time I went there with the expedition dudes so that got me pretty hyped! And lucky enough I got it and got a sequence.
Whose parts are you stoked on in the video?
I have to say Montie for sure! He worked super hard on it I can't believe he filmed that having a full time job!

What was it like to work on another project with Jarvis? You guys seem like a good team.
It’s always sick! He always has my back. I’ve known him for a long time too so it’s easy to work together!
How is this video/part different from other parts you’ve filmed?
I was way more hyped because now I’m older and have a new trick selection and I’m not wearing 1000xl shirts haha!
Now that the videos done, what's next. Any other projects on the go? Trips?
Yeah, I’m actually working at Underworld now saving up money to move to Cali for a while in February.
Switch Ollie
What do you like to do when you’re not skating?
Play pool, darts, golf and hang out with my lady.
I know you’ve been in Vancouver for a while. How do you like it? How does it compare to back home?
I love Vancouver! There are so many good and down to earth people. Plus the it’s the most beautiful city in Canada! It is hard to compare it though. Ontario is sick in its own way too. It is nice having my family here when I come visit and skating with all the homies from London and Toronto! I would have to say that they are both equal.
Favourite skaters?
Spencer Hamilton, Dustin Montie, Morgan Smith, Sean Lowe, Justin Statts, Colin Findlater.
Nollie Flip
Favourite artists/bands?
Joe Cocker.
Favourite food?
Panago pizza and sushi.
Favorite places to skate?
Vic park (ledge land) and Abby skate park.
What's some good advice someone has given you?
Don't do it!
